So this is a start of a little accident I had playing football in January 2012. I went in for a sliding tackle playing football and came off worse. I knew straight away I done some damage because it hurt like F**K and tried to move my left leg without success and I was punching the cold wet grass and all I was thinking is the wife is going to knock me out. Anyway I was carried on to the side of the pitch and continued watching my football team getting beat and all the time my knee was swelling up.
I then tried to contact my wife for at least 15 mins before she finally answered for me to tell her I had damaged my leg playing football her response was " WHAT YOU MEAN YOU HAVE HURT YOUR LEG". Anyway I managed to get to the top of the car park with help from 2 friends ie had a piggyback. I waited another 20 mins for my wife to arrive where I then struggled to get into the car and then to hospital.
Once in hospital after a short wait I had a xray on my left leg (which was caked in mud) which resulted in a crack to the tibia. I was giving crutches and my leg was put in a leg brace and I was giving some pain killers and sent home.
With two children one 6 years old and the other just under a year it was going to be a nightmare and the wife wasn't happy. The first night sleep was so so painful and for the next few weeks i was unable to do sweet fa at home to help. It was a nightmare. This lasted for 6 weeks. On return to the hospital my leg was still very bruised and they decided that I would need a MRI scan which I had in February I didn't receive my results until the middle of April where I was informed I had done some damage in my knee. It resulted in a complete tear of PCL and a partial tear of the ACL and a tear of the fibular collateral ligament.
I only found this out from the physio but I was still awaiting for an appointment to see the knee specialist. I finally got an appointment to see the knee specialist and he pretty much confirmed what I thought " MY KNEE WAS F@@@ED". That was on the 25th April 2012 so now I'm waiting to find out when my operation is going to be. I was off work when I first injured my leg for 3 months so I'm dreading to see how long I'm going to be off work this time.
